Tri-Gracias – A Group of Triathletes Came Together to Support HSM

Tri-Gracias
“We rise by lifting others”. That is the motto of Tri Gracias, the brainchild of Mr. Ahmad Taufik Abdul Rahim, who assembled a group of dedicated tri-sports as well as swim coaches — including our very own Hazri Aris, a Hemophilia A severe patient and a swim coach — to conduct a series of swim and triathlon clinics for aspired triathletes.

Triathletes are athletes who compete in a triathlon, the athletic competition that is a long-distance race consisting of three phases such as swimming, bicycling and running.
With the increased popularity of tri-sports in Malaysia, a total of four series of clinics were held between October 2018 and September 2019, where the first three clinics took place at Multimedia University Cyberjaya campus. Participants were coached in each discipline of the tri-sports such as stroke correction and swimming drills, conserving energy for cycling, and improving running posture and habits.
The fourth clinic held at Pantai Bagan Lalang, Port Dickson focused solely on open-water swimming skills as it is the toughest discipline to master; it also acted as preparation for the participants who were about to partake in the Ironman Langkawi in October 2019.

The response to the clinics was incredibly positive, with close to 300 triathletes taking part in all four series. With the spirit of lifting others and giving back to the community, Tri-Gracias has graciously donated RM1,900.00 to Hemophilia Society of Malaysia (HSM), a generous portion from the clinics’ fee.
As Mr. Ahmad Taufik said: “Tri-Gracias was formed with the intention of bringing the tri-athlete as a person and as a tri-athlete. I am moved by the spirit of my good friend, Hazri Aris who despites having Hemophilia, is a fighter and excels in swimming. He shows a good example to not just people with a bleeding disorder, but to normal people as well.”

HSM would like to sincerely thank Tri-Gracias for their contribution and support to our cause. We wish Tri-Gracias and the tri-athletes many successes in the tri-sport area and life.
